The Mallee Catchment Management Authority is embarking on an airborne electromagnetic salinty survey in 2024

The 2022–28 Mallee Regional Catchment Strategy recognises our region’s long history caring for these natural & cultural landscapes

Expressions of Interest are now open for the roles of Independent Aboriginal Delegate and Associate Board Member with the Mallee CMA Board.

Mallee Salinity Survey 2024

Salinity affects the Mallee environment and irrigation industries. To manage it well, we need accurate data on saline groundwater. That’s why we are conducting an airborne survey from March to June 2024, using advanced technology to map the salinity changes in the Murray River corridor. This survey will give us valuable information on:

  • How deep and widespread the saline groundwater is
  • Where it is building up in the landscape
  • How it flows underground
  • Where the clay layers are that affect its movement
  • How salty the groundwater is

2024 Victorian Landcare Grants

Applications are now open for the 2024 Victorian Landcare Grants.

Through the 2024 Victorian Landcare Grants, $3.55 million is available for Landcare and other environmental volunteer groups and networks that are working to protect and restore land and the environment.

Up to $20,000 is available for project grants and up to $500 for support grants.
